DEUX OFFICIERS SUPERIEURS DE L’ARMEE DANS L’HISTOIRE

Les généraux Jean NGANSO SUINDJI et Oumarou DJAM YAYA ; rendent leurs armes à la postérité ; à un moment ou la nation est en quête de modèles pour sa jeunesse. Le parcours de ces hauts dignitaires de l’armée passés en section de repos depuis le 11 mars 2010, aux cotés des généraux Pierre SEMENGUE et James TATAW de regrettée mémoire nous inspire.

Nul n’est besoin ici de revenir simplement sur le portrait de ces hauts gradés. Mais beaucoup plus de retracer leur participation à l’unité, la stabilité et la prospérité de cette Nation, le Cameroun. Ils ont su rester militaires, dans les casernes. N’en sont pas sortis alors que dans bien de Nations autour du Cameroun, les armes établissaient un ordre martial.

6 Avril 1984

Ces militaires avaient des positions qui leur auraient permis d’aspirer au pouvoir suprême. L’un était chef d’état major de l’armée de l’air et l’autre dirigeait le centre national de la documentation et avait assuré la sécurité présidentielle. En plus tous les deux, le1er juillet 1983, soit quelques mois avant, venaient d’accéder au grade de Généraux de brigade, pourtant l’un et l’autre après un échange avec le chef des putschistes, le Colonel  Ibrahim SALEH, alors commandant de la garde républicaine, décident de se mettre du coté des institutions. 

1990 : un autre test de leur fidélité 

Le Cameroun est traversé par des mouvements sociaux de forte envergure, le vent des démocraties. Les deux généraux sont au commandes de grandes unités, ils auraient été dans certains pays du continent que leur noms seraient sortis des casernes pour les palais. Mais ils sont restés fermes. La fine fleur de nos armées, a milité pour l’Unité. Généraux de division le 05 février 1993, puis Généraux de corps d’armée le 25 septembre 2001. Ils sont restés fideles et ont vécu une préretraite honorable, puis une retraite tranquille.

A 84 ans et 82 ans les deux militaires s’en vont les jeunes de passage à l’Ecole Militaire Interarmées, pourront apprendre à travers eux tout le sens des mots Honneur et Fidélité
