Surcharges, véhicules cabossés, racolage et toutes sortes de vices accompagnent ceux des voyageurs qui empruntent les transports en commun pour partir de Yaoundé ou de Douala en direction de toutes les villes de la région de l’Ouest Cameroun et cela n’émeut personne. On se croirait dans un Far West où chacun établit ses lois et règlements. En manque de choix, les usagers aux petits moyens trinquent et subissent tout type d’arnaque. Tout commence avec la réservation d’un ticket de voyage et ici, nous sommes dans une structure baptisée : Agence de voyage. Entre 10heures et 18heures, des passagers défilent et obtiennent un titre de voyage. Il coûte entre trois mille et cinq mille selon votre destination, et l’on parle des périodes hautes, du jeudi au dimanche. Les autres jours, on se débrouille. Après le versement de la somme équivalente, l’usager reçoit un numéro de voyage par exemple B4, A01 ou N3. Il n’y a ni mention du numéro de siège, ni celle du numéro de véhicule. La seule chose qui est dite, c’est que les départs sont prévus dès 22heures.

Pour les habitués, cette mention signifie, arriver tôt et négocier avec les chargeurs pour partir dès que possible. Pour les non-initiés, ils respectent les indications. Et l’on vous informe que les chiffres qui accompagnent les lettres, désignent la succession des voyages. Donc le N3 par exemple, c’est le troisième départ pour Nkongsamba. 

Les bus ne sont pas garés sur le quai, ils arrivent au fur et à mesure qu’avance la nuit. Ce jusqu’à minuit voire une heure du matin. Mais ce jour-là, un vendredi, vers 1 heures et 15 minutes, on annonce la fin des départs, encore en attente plus de 70 passagers. Aux infortunés, on rembourse sans excuses, les sommes versées plus tôt en journée ou alors on vous invite, à dormir sur les lieux en attendant les voyages de la journée, c’est-à-dire vers 10 heures.

Si vous aviez une urgence, vous voilà jeté en pâture dans l’infortune. Il ne vous reste plus qu’à courir vers les principaux axes pour l’Autostop ou le racolage. Là commence un autre calvaire que je vous raconterai dans les prochaines publications.
