Partir de Ngaoundéré dans la région de l’Adamaoua, à Maroua à l’Extrême Nord, bien sûr en passant par Garoua chef-lieu du Nord, une chose frappe le visiteur et ce n’est pas la route très difficile qui fera oublier ces énormes richesses agropastorales et la beauté de ce paysage. Ces peuples de la zone sahélienne sont accueillants et travailleurs et vous rappellent que la beauté de la vie ne se mesure pas au nombre d’immeubles, de voitures et d’autres biens matériels qui font le quotidien des gens ailleurs. Parcourir 278 kilomètres entre Ngaoundéré et Garoua sur une route dégarnie de goudron et pleine de creux s’apparente à un parcours du combattant. Et pour celui qui emprunte pour la première fois cet axe, il serait facile de penser que l’on se dirige vers un monde où la pauvreté a élu domicile. Pourtant à regarder de près, on marche sur une richesse appréciable à l’œil nu.
